What is Astrology?

Near and very far away stars and planets and their influence on everything that lives, form the study object of an astrologer who specializes in astrology. Astrology studies the influence of cosmic objects. The position of the sun, moon, stars and planets at the moment of birth is assumed to be decisive for the personality of a human being.

Astrology: constellations and horoscopes

The most famous form of astrology is the teaching and interpretation of a birth chart by means of the constellations. Aries, Taurus, Twins, Cancer, Lion, Virgin, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces are the twelve signs of the zodiac. They are used in western sun sign astrology.

Astrology assumes that all the existing (invisible) is connected to each other. Just as ebb and flow are controlled by the moon, all cosmic objects influence everything that lives.

What does an astrologer do?

An astrologer is an advisor who has proficiency in the knowledge of the position and influence of celestial bodies. He gives you insight into your possibilities by means of horoscopes and symbolism. You can recognize your characteristics in the interpretation that is implicit in a birth chart and learn not only about your possibilities, but also about your limitations.

An astrologer as advisor

Most astrologers are specialised in one or more astrological fields: classical, psychological, financial, etc. Companies also regularly seek advice on future transactions or events, and in some cultures this is more the rule than the exception.

Chinese Astrology

In contrast to Western astrology, which is based on the Sun, Chinese astrology is based on the Moon. Yet there are many similarities between the zodiac signs of both currents.

Chinese Astrology: Moon Years

The Chinese calendar starts on the second new moon of each new year. Each human being consists of three animals, not just one. In this way you are both an annual animal (year of birth) and a lunar animal (month of birth) as well as an inner animal (time of birth). The year animal stands for behaviour in the outside world; the moon animal is decisive in the formation of the personality; the inner animal stands for the inner life.
